Wesley Blackmon Jr - Class Of 1966

Wesley Blackmon Jr

Wesley Blackmon passed away in the early morning of December 7, 2021.

“Junior” as he was known by his family & childhood friends, was born in Austin, Texas on March 21, 1948 to John Wesley and Betty Josephine Blackmon. Wesley graduated from Johnston High School in Austin where he went on to join the US Navy. After leaving the service, he relocated to Dallas, Texas in 1973 where he met the love of his life, Desiree. After getting married, they lived in Bryan and Austin before settling in Houston where he spent over 35 + years working in the sales industry. While raising four children and making many life-long friends he enjoyed volunteering at the schools and within the community. To be closer to their grandchildren, him and his wife relocated to the Dallas Frisco area in 2011 where he went on to spend as much time with his grandchildren even volunteering at their school. Throughout all of his accomplishments professionally, he found working as a school crossing guard for Frisco ISD to be the most rewarding.
Anyone who met Wesley, knew he was a devout Christian as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Sharing the knowledge of the bible and hope for the future gave profound meaning to his life. He effortlessly connected with people from all walks of life, disarming them with his beaming smile, sense of humor and humble nature he exhibited to everyone he met.
Wesley will be deeply missed by his family and his diverse circle of friends. He will be remembered not only for his achievements but more significantly by the way he lived his life. He was a big hearted, hardworking, God-fearing man that would give the shirt off-of his back for anyone in need. He was a mentor to many but above all was supremely grateful and humble, never taking for granted what he deemed the priceless gift in life, his grandchildren! He is survived by his wife Desiree of Frisco, brother Charles of Austin along with his four children Jonathan of Beverly Hills, Marcus of Frisco, Leah of Plano, Miranda of McKinney, six grandchildren Haley, Madison, Kobe, Kailynn, Taylor and Jaxon. Preceded in death his parents John Wesley & Betty Josephine Blackmon and brother Jerry Blackmon.
Memorial services will be held at Aria Funeral Home (19310 Preston Rd, Dallas, Texas 75252) on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 1 PM.
