Arthur James Gonzales, Sr. passed away on December 21st, 2016.  

Our beloved Arthur James Gonzales, Sr., age 60, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Patsy Gonzales and his brothers, Manuel Estrada, Carl Rene Gonzales, and David Gonzales. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Helen Cantu; his children, Roxanna Gonzales, Arthur James Gonzales, Jr., Jason Allen Gonzales, Sr. and wife, Isabelle, Matthew Adam Gonzales, and his grandson raised as his own, Jason Allen Gonzales, Jr.; his brothers and sisters, Marie Ruiz, Kathy Vasquez and husband, Ralph, Mark Gonzales and wife, Naomi, Jeff Gonzales and wife, Kellie, Linda Horne, John Gonzales, and Marshall Gonzales and wife, Elizabeth; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and one on-the-way; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Arthur was born and raised in East Austin. He graduated with Honors from Johnston High School and went on to be a partner with ATX Delivery, courier services. Arthur served as an altar-boy at Cristo Rey. He was a huge Dallas football fan, loved his family and held to his faith. Pallbearers will be Jesse Morris, Lawrence Gonzales, Steve Guzman, Louis Navarro, Edward Martinez, and Jack Nuncio. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Gonzales, Mark Gonzales, John Gonzales, and Eddie Cantu. The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the staff and doctors at Christopher House. Their dedication and high level of care is so greatly appreciated by all of the Gonzales family. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
