Christopher Eric Wilke

Christopher Eric Wilke was born on July 2, 1969, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Patricia Walters and Cary Wilke. Raised with deep Texas roots, Eric attended Johnston High in Austin TX and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Civil Engineering

A Life of Adventure and Hard Work

Eric was extremely dedicated to his career in the oil and gas industry, and earned the deep respect of his managers, customers, and peers. His work led him across much of the United States, including Texas, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, and Wyoming. He also spent a great deal of time overseas in Argentina. He was a true expert in the field, and adapted to many climates, cultures, and  environments.   He loved the challenges, hard work, and increased knowledge base that came with every assignment.

Family: His Greatest Pride

Eric met his wife Jenny in Houston, and after dating for 2 years while he was on assignment in Corpus Christie, fell deeply in love and were married at the Ladies Pavilion in Central Park New York in 2011. Although life was very busy, as Jenny was an Oncology Nurse and Eric a Frac specialist in the field, they managed to always put each other and family first and make it through whatever challenges they faced. They loved traveling when he was home, and the mutual love of baseball carried them to many MLB baseball games around the US.Eric was a father to Josh, Lauren, Nick, Sam, and stepsons Christian and Chandler.  He took immense joy in being a grandfather to the children of Josh, Nick and Christian. His family was always at the forefront of his thoughts and actions.

A Larger-Than-Life Personality

Eric always displayed respect and the sincere desire to get to know someone regardless of any differences. His extensive knowledge of sports, movies, and music was impressive to say the least. His opinions and ideas were thought provoking, and always contributed to an instant connection. Once he met you he would never forget you.

A Legacy of Love and Laughter

Eric is survived by his beloved wife Jenny, his children Josh, (wife Ashley), Nick, Lauren, Sam, Christian (wife Abbey), and Chandler, and his cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Patricia, his sister Rachael (Ian), Maria (Marcelo), and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched.

Eric will find his final resting place among his proud German relatives in the Wilke family cemetery in Albert, Texas.
