Marva F. Boyer, age 72, of Denver, Colorado passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
A visitation for Marva will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231.
A visitation will occur Friday, May 3, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, 8600 E. Hampden Ave., Denver, CO 80231.
A funeral service will occur Friday, May 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231.
A graveside services will occur Monday, May 6, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236.
Marva Fred Boyer (née Gentry) was born on January 12, 1952, in Waco, Texas, and passed away on April 21, 2024, in Denver, Colorado. She was a beloved wife, sister, and teacher, known for her kind and generous soul.
Marva dedicated 33 years of her life to educating young minds as a first-grade and kindergarten teacher at Amesse, Schmitt, and Smith Elementary Schools in Denver before retiring in 2015. She touched the lives of many students and colleagues throughout her career.
Outside of her profession, Marva found joy in traveling, collecting Christmas ornaments from her adventures, sending cards and postcards, and journaling. Her passion for spreading happiness extended beyond her travels, as she was always eager to find gifts that would bring smiles to her friends and family.
Marva will be deeply missed by her husband, Henry Boyer, her siblings Terri, Howard, and Herman, her brothers-in-law Aristotle, Olen, and Harold, her sisters-in-law Clara, Bessie, Olene, and Marie, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Grover May Gentry, father Fred Gentry, brother Douglas, and sister Donna Sue.
Educated at Albert Sidney Johnston High School in Austin, Texas, Marva went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Huston-Tillotson University and a Master's degree from Lesley College.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at visitations on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00, and Friday, May 3, from 12:00 to 1:00 at Olinger Hampden Mortuary in Denver. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 3, 2024, at 1:00 at the same location, with graveside services following on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Fort Logan National Cemetery from 10:30 to 11:00.
