Kathryn Ann Cleckler Doggett Bywaters age 92 passed on May 27, 2025, in Webster, Texas. She was born on October 1, 1932, Weslaco, Texas to Harvey C. Cleckler and Mary Elizabeth Morrow, who had moved from Arab, Alabama to the Valley around 1923. Her family farmed and raised cattle. Kathryn shared many memories of growing up on a farm in South Texas with her brothers and sisters.
She graduated from Weslaco High School as salutatorian and attended Howard Payne College in Brownwood and graduated from Southwest Texas State College at San Marcos. She was a member of Alpha Chi and Pi Omega Pi and was elected to the Who’s Who is American Colleges and Universities.
She married Bill J Doggett on June 4, 1955. They raised 3 children, Donna, Steven, and Paul. Together they lived in a few places including Austin, Comanche, Katy Texas as well as South Carolina. Kathryn was a teacher and a real estate agent and broker. She enjoyed sharing stories of learning about different types of grass and fences when they moved to Comanche. Selling farms and ranches was different than selling houses in Katy! They retired in Sun City in Georgetown Texas in 1996. After almost 50 years of marriage and a wonderful life together, Bill passed away in February 2004.
Kathryn met Walter H. Bywaters in Grief Group and married on April 29, 2005 in Honolulu Hawaii. They thoroughly enjoyed traveling and their active life in Sun City together! Throughout her life, Kathryn loved her family and enjoyed every visit! She never met a stranger and had such a positive outlook on life. She was an active and generous member of Georgetown Church of Christ. Kathryn was a lifelong learner and enjoyed many activities and clubs including clogging, dancing, photography, traveling, theater, investment club, games, and many more.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her first husband, her parents, all her siblings, her daughter, Donna Huss. She is survived by her husband Walter Hill Bywater, Steven Doggett and wife Taffy of Leander, Texas, Paul Doggett of Commanche, Texas. Grandchildren: Donna’s children - Jennifer Huss Murphy (Travis) and Joshua Huss (Amy), Steve’s children – Kyndell Doggett Wright (Dylan Wright), Derrick Doggett, and Logan Doggett, Paul’s Children- Lauren, Nicole, Anissa, Billy and Frankie Doggett. Great Grandchildren: Jennifer’s twins -Eliza and Rosie, Josh’s kids- Vince and Millie Huss, the newest additional Kyndell’s newborn, Rowan. Bonus Family: Greg Bywaters and Dannielle Torres of Naples, Florida, Joseph and Dany Zadrozny of most recently Nigeria, Kelly and Keith Venters of Dawsonville, Georgia, Jill Rea of Lemont, Illinois, Jennifer and Stephen Nevins of Clear Lake, Texas. Joe’s children- Lara and Alex, Kelly’s children- Lane (Victoria) and Allison. Jill’s children- Ben and Jillian and Jennifer’s children- Mitchell, Shelby and Charlotte. Great grandchild- Lane’s son Beckham. Many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
