Dorothy Oliver McClurg was born on September 24, 1910, in Douglasville, Texas. She graduated from high school there, attended the University of Texas and East Texas Baptist College for her undergraduate degree and received her masters degree and counseling degree from the University of Texas. She taught in the Maud, Marshall and Austin School Systems, her teaching career spanned over 30 years.

She is survived by her children, Carol Mueller of Phoenix, Arizona, and Al McClurg of Austin; sister, Betty Swift of South Carolina; grandchildren, Loren Mueller of Telluride, Colorado, and Kelly Mueller of Tempe, Arizona; and various other nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the University United Methodist Church. She will be warmly remembered by her many friends and family.
