Adams, ANNIE JO McANALLY, 83, entered eternal glory Friday, after a short illness. She was born in Dallas, December 12, 1920, to Charles Carroll McAnally and Ruth Inez Deterly McAnally. After growing up in Oak Cliff and graduating from Sunset High School, she went first to TSCW in Denton and then to the University of Texas in Austin, where she was a member of the Phi Mu sorority. She completed a degree in mathematics in 1942. In 1943, she married Robert MacColl Adams, also a student at the University of Texas. After he returned from naval service in World War II, they settled in Austin, where he continued his association with the university. They had two sons, Robert McAnally Adams and Charles William Adams. During their years in Austin, she taught high school mathematics. Also, they were active in Christian evangelism to college students through faculty sponsorship of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for 25 years. During this time, many hundreds of students passed through their home and emerged knowing more about the evangelical faith. In 1975, upon retirement, they moved back to Dallas, where they continued a long association with the Scofield Memorial Church. After her husband's death in 1985, she continued to have a lively interest in church work, teaching a Bible class. She was a wise matriarch deeply involved in the lives of her family and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her mother, her father, a beloved stepfather, W. S. Mosher, Jr., and a beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth Adams. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her sons, her daughters-in-law, Missy Adams and Ellen C. Rose, one sister-in-law, Betty Mosher, four grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a loving community of believers. The family will greet visitors at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 pm. - 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be at Scofield Memorial Church on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with graveside service to follow. Dignity Memorial Sparkman Hillcrest 7405 W.
