Richard Edward “Ricky” Perez, age 62, of Killeen passed from this life during the afternoon hours of Sunday, October 17th, 2021, at the Temple VA. He was born on the 12thday of November 1958 in Austin, Texas to parents Richard and Louisa (Zungia) Perez. In Ricky’s younger years he lived in Austin, Texas where he graduated from Johnston High School; he then moved to Kansas where he spent twenty years raising his kids and welcoming his first three grandkids. After his time in Kansas he moved back to Austin for a few years and then to Killeen where he has resided for the past three years. Ricky proudly served his country in the United States Army and was associated with the Catholic religion. Ricky has been with his partner in life Kellie Jo Perez, for the past thirty-five years. Ricky was a collector of old toys, movies, and comic books. He loved to take pictures of everyone! Ricky was such a caring man who loved life and he adored his grandchildren very much. He was a very spiritual man who turned to God for everything. Ricky will be deeply missed by many friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Mary Perez, his sister Christine Garza, as well as niece Nikki Hamilton. Ricky leaves behind to cherish his memory his life-long partner Kellie Jo Perez of Killeen, sons Matthew Perez and Ricky Perez Jr. both of Hutchinson, Kansas and Jacob Perez of Austin, as well as daughter Bianca Marks and husband Anthony of Killeen. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory, his brothers Pete Perez and wife Sylvia, and John Perez, sisters Vera Puente and husband Andy, Alice Calderon and husband Richard, Linda Vasquez and husband Manuel, Virgie Serrato, Cookie Lucio, Emily Roberts, and eight grandchildren: Nehemiah, Aidan, Rylan, Damari, Alyna, Isabella, Santino, and Ava, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killen on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 1 o’clock p.m. The family will be accepting visitors at the funeral home Wednesday morning starting at 10 o’clock a.m. Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
